Are My Thoughts Making Me Fatigued?


I spent 2010 to fall 2011 on a progressive nutrition, training, recovery & neuromuscular program focused on naturally changing my body & conditioning to compete in NPC figure at the national level so I could inspire other women 35 years of age & up about what is possible in the human body naturally, even post thyroid & adrenal fatigue illness, if we work our way to results from the inside out.

Since I stepped off the stage last back then at North Americans, and took all my mental & emotional focus off creating a body and put into onto creating our E3 Energy Evolved mission for the last 2.75 years to serve other women now 40 & up around the world through diagnostic nutrition for thyroid, adrenal and metabolism restoration education & support programs, here’s what I can tell you.

I would take prepping as a natural athlete any day over the intensity the last few years to build our mission to help others.

Everything that you see here or online so far in our journey first came out of my heart, then my mind, and even my own fingers through a deep passion to share and pay forward what we learned through our own struggle as husband and wife with thyroid disease and adrenal fatigue, as well as auto immune disease, and what we learned on the path back to restoring wellness in my body through nutrition and lifestyle. And to be honest, creating e3 Energy Evolved to help lead other mid-life women to natural restoration, is the hardest thing I’ve done yet in my 40+ years. It’s taken every energetic ounce of my being, mind and soul, and even more still when I thought I had nothing left to give in this creative process, and still is!

The process of having to use our minds constantly and create constantly to bring a vision and mission to life to give back, is 100 times more energetically depleting than doing intense physical work as a natural athlete, and it’s really an important human body metabolism concept to consider if you’re struggling with fatigue or your energy.

It wasn’t until I had to learn how to beat a stress/energy related illness in my body naturally in my early 30’s that I ever considered all the ways our bodies AND BRAINS use & deplete our energy stores & energy systems.

Since beginning our e3 Energy Evolved mission, my physical training has been much less than when I was preparing for an athletic goal, and my mental effort has been non-stop, and yet I’m much more energetically drained physically sometimes than I ever was competing.  Creative output constantly is energetically demanding, and therefore, physically depleting of your bodies energy stores. It only has so much to give you to work with every day, and most people aren’t inputting all the things daily in a way that produces maximum resting metabolism so they have great energy to use throughout the day, while they’re over-withdrawing daily from the account at the same time.

If you’re fatigued, tired, over-stressed, burnt-out, not happy with your fat loss, spent, here’s what I can tell you…. how are you using your mind everyday? Because most women over-focus on exercise which is fine, but we leave all these other key areas of how our bodies use and produce energy everyday off the table. How we stress out, how we choose to react, how we live, if we over-do, how much time we take to restore energy or don’t, how much time we take to just “be”, if we quiet our minds.

Our minds use a lot of energy even on a very low use day. Our brains specifically use about 20% on average of our resting metabolic rate daily, and that is on a fairly restful day, so think of what most burnt-out, over worked women use just in thinking in their normal daily routine, and we wonder why we women are energetically sapped!

Our minds require calories to run, just like the rest of our bodies. So now if you’re thinking & doing constantly as a busy, over-stressed, burnt out woman, you only go up from there in how much energy you’re using with your over-active, under-quiet, stressed out mind all day, which fatigues your body.

There is a lot more to being in a physical state of constant fatigue and being tired in our bodies than just the physical we are doing.

So if you find yourself wondering, why am I always so tired or never have enough energy, consider how much you’re using your mind, then consider how much you need to put back in to stay in healthy balance, so you’re not over-fatiguing your body. Achieving wellness and balance in our bodies, also means achieving wellness and balance in our minds, as they’re intimately connected.

Find mental down time, be time, play time, self-reconnect-time, de-stress time. Breathe. Meditate. Move. React less, choose perspective more. Control less, trust & have faith more. Perfect less, flow more.

There is a mental path to wellness and balance that is often just as important as food and the physical. When I finally accepted my personal power to heal my own thyroid and adrenal fatigue illness naturally, I also accepted how I got there in the first place, and how my own thinking, control, stress, type A, perfectionism of my former self indirectly played a one part in my loss of control of my body dis-ease.
