No one can argue that the technological advances this country has seen over the past century are anything short of remarkable. Several decades ago, you’d be deemed as a witch if you said you were able to, in the middle of the Mojave desert, make a phone call, watch the NCAA basketball tournament, send someone a quick note, pay your credit card bill or find directions home, all from a device the size of a 3×5 index card.
These technological advances do not come without a price. No, I’m not referring to the $199 you paid for your new 128gb iPhone by signing a two-year contract. It’s your body that’s paying the price.
Sure, electromagnetic fields (EMFs) have been permeating our ecosystem since the beginning of time. However, the environmental exposure to EMFs has been steadily increasing for over a century due to the “enhancements” in technology, created by humans.
Technological Pollution
If when you hear the word “pollution”, you think of the bi-product of burning fossil fuels or throwing a plastic bottle in with your biodegradable garbage, you’re correct. But, a form of pollution you may not be considering is the pollution emitted from technology. Some of the biggest contributors to technological pollution are:
- Cell phones & wireless headsets
- Computers & tablets
- Cellular towers
- Power lines
- Microwave ovens
- Fluorescent lighting
- Energy efficient appliances
- Smart meters
- Airplanes & security check systems
- X-rays & CT scanners
- Wi-Fi, routers & other networking devices
All of these everyday conveniences create an environment full of extremely toxic electromagnetic radiation that can have catastrophic ramifications on all aspects of your health and lead to a plethora of symptoms. This radiation is unfortunately inescapable . It’s everywhere. It’s in our homes, our offices, our cars, even in the park where you play with your kids.
Cell phones are likely the biggest offenders, as they’re by our side 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Many of us even keep them next to our pillows during the most important 8 hours of our day, because we need to be “connected” even while we sleep.
Are you fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood where the energy company installed smart meters for the sake of convenience and accuracy? If so, you’re sitting in a pool of radiation being emitted from the entire network of meters in your neighborhood. Refusing the installation on your home won’t help much because all your neighbors have them. Can you hear me now?
Are you like me, who purchased energy efficient appliances for the sake of saving a few bucks? That “energy efficiency” causes high frequency electric spikes in your home by shifting the voltage in your home’s wiring, leading to a number of symptoms like anxiety, sleep disturbances and headaches.
Do you have power lines running directly over your house? Do you use a microwave oven to quickly reheat your lunch? Do you frequently walk through the metal detector at the airport security checkpoint? The more “yes” answers, the more toxic exposure.
EMF Side Effects
Just as taking a Statin drug for hypercholesterolemia, which is an insane practice by itself, EMFs come with a number of side effects, some of which can be devastating. Some of the side effects of our modern-day conveniences called technology are:
- Endocrine imbalances
- Fatigue
- Stress / fight or flight
- Thyroid disease
- Sleep disturbances
- Brain fog / memory loss
- Digestive disorders / leaky gut
- Headaches / Migraines
- DNA mutations
- Anxiety & depression
- Chronic aches & pains
- Chronic cold & flu
- Burning eyes / cataracts
- Cancer
- Infertility / birth defects
- Neurological disorder
EMFs interfere with normal body processes and energy field, moving us away from homeostasis, or functional and energetic balance. They do so by interfering with the proper positioning of ions within the body, disrupting all cellular metabolism, damaging our DNA (your body’s blueprint) and prevent the body from healing that damaged DNA. This can also create deficiencies in certain minerals like calcium, lithium and potassium, which could be the cause of anxiety, depression and neurological disorders.
These damaging effects occur at very low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields. Biochemical alterations occur within the first few minutes of exposure to cell phone radiation, cell towers, and Wi-Fi. Those so-called “smart” meters create an entire body exposure. Over time, chronic exposure creates chronic degeneration and can result in chronic illness.
Are We All Doomed?
Fortunately, when you’re outside, your body comes into resonance with the earth’s natural voltage, which mitigates some of the EMF pollution. However, when you enter your home or office building, your body actually becomes a conductor of the radiation emitting from your building and environment. In essence, your body becomes a magnet, and those EMFs are attracted to you.
Now that I’ve scared the bejesus out of you, let’s talk about steps you can take to minimize the effects and even limit the genetic altering exposure. The first thing you can do is test for electromagnetic fields in your home in order to assess your exposure. You can purchase an EMF detector, like a Gauss meter, fairly inexpensively. Once you know your exposure, you can take steps to reduce that exposure.
Avoid living under power lines. If you have power lines running through your backyard, this may be difficult if you own the home. If you’re renting or relocating soon, find a residence without power lines nearby. This EMF source issue became even more evident when Heather began dealing with her autoimmune disease. When we got married and bought a home, it was directly next to a high school, and a row of power lines ran directly between the two properties and right along the back side of our house and led directly to the room that was my office. We didn’t fully understand the effect that that EMF source was having on her personal health at the time.
Remove cell phone and electronic devices from your bedroom, including Bluetooth alarm clocks. Sleep’s primary function is to help repair and restore. Anything that interferes with the sleep process can cause huge problems.
Sleep with your head away from the wall. The wires running through the conduit in the walls will provide you with a nice, steady zap right into your head.
Use a wired headset when talking on your iPhone or listening to music. Bluetooth and other wireless devices, or holding the cell phone directly to your ear will increase the radiation exposure to your head.
When possible, disable the wireless on your Wi-Fi router; use a data cable connection to the router.
Put a Himalayan salt lamp on your office desk. This can help to draw some of the EMFs away from you, slightly reducing the harmful effects.
Purchase an EMF protector (like this one from EarthCalm) for your home, for your mobile phone, or to wear on your body. Doing all three will increase the benefit. We recently installed one in our home and can feel the difference. I recall one afternoon, I accidentally disabled it, and Heather immediately felt an increased pressure throughout her body. As soon as I re-enabled it, that pressure was alleviated.
They work by grounding you and your body’s energy to the center of the earth, which creates a protection from the EMFs themselves, allows for the positive flow of energy between your body and the earth, and helps to rid your body of the harmful effects of the EMFs.
Adding an EMF protector to your home and/or body can allow your body’s metabolic processes to function as intended, thus helping to suppress many of the symptoms mentioned earlier. Just providing your body with the tool to limit the negative effects of the EMFs that are all around you would be a great first step to put you on that restoration path.
